This bull elk was with his heard or 20 cows near the Oconaluftee Visitors center in just outside of Cherokee, NC. These images were taken during the rains from hurricane Helene. The next day as we left Waynesville, NC the roads closed behind us from rock and mud slides as well as the east bound lane of I40 collapsing. Quite an adventure.
